Jess and Josh are getting married in September, and I had the distinct pleasure of visiting them in their hometown of Santa Cruz to shoot their engagement photos. They were so much fun! They met at the high school, where we took portraits. It’s so great seeing where people started their relationships, when they could only dream of where they’d be 10 years later. We drove through town in Josh’s gorgeous classic red Buick, inciting several audible comments from people we passed: “Nice car, dude!” “Whoa, rad ride, man.” “That car is awesome, dude!” “Hey, cool car, man.” You can imagine the Santa Cruz voice drawling those comments out–trust me, you’re right. It was marvelous.
It was 96 degrees up at the winery where they are getting married. We walked through to see all the pretty spots, including the gorgeous view of the ocean through the hills. It will be an amazing and unforgettable summer evening.
Congratulations, J&J! We can’t wait to join you in September!

Ara….I know Jess and Josh well (as MOB) and you did an amazing job of capturing their love and their joy! I can’t wait to meet you in September!
my best….Judy
Beautiful photos–they are so adorable!
Looking forward to their special day.
Thank you both, Judy and Joanne! We can’t wait to see you in September!
My favorite photo is at the Harbor High lockers … I’m a Pirate graduate “1977″, it brings back those wonderful High School memories! Loved the photo journey as well!!
These shots are so beautiful. Brings tears to my eyes seeing these two young
people so much in love. The pictures say it all…10,000 words and more.
Nice car, too….dude.
I went back to these photos today and fell in love with “Joshica 2012″ all over again. What an amazing couple – with an incredible family and support network behind them. Sometimes you meet couples who are so incredibly solid and perfect – and these two set a new bar in that arena! I had such an AMAZING time with Jess and Josh – I cannot thank them enough for being so welcoming on such a busy, personal, special day.
Love to Joshica and Family!
