Jonathan and Allison went on a Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood adventure with me for the first part of a “four seasons” engagement shoot. We’ll be doing part 2 in the spring. We hit the perfect transition from fall to winter, on a beautiful day with some of the first lower-altitude snow on Hood. What a lovely couple they are, too! Sometimes you meet a pair who can’t stop smiling and laughing, and such was the case with these two. It’s a good sign for a long life of love.

Mandy and Paul joined me at Cannon Beach and Hug Point for a beautiful day in October–one of our incredible Oregon fall days this year. They are a sweet and sassy pair, getting married in just a few short weeks in December.

Our visit to Hug Point included a bit of a bushwhack through the shrubbery over the hill to the waterfall. The tide was in almost all the way, so we couldn’t duck around the rocks on the beach. After a bit of a muddy, slippery, bushy adventure, we emerged at the beautiful beach on the far side. Such a fun afternoon!

I met Holly in the middle of a wedding gown conundrum. Long or tea-length? Elegant or effortlessly cute? She told me about her Alice in Wonderland-themed wedding at the Queen Anne Victorian, and I couldn’t wait to share her day. She and her fiance, Greg, are constantly surprising me with their spontaneity and joy in each other. We had a blast in the NW Industrial area and around the Fremont Bridge with much silliness, jumping, sweet moments, and laughing. I am really looking forward to seeing the fun and magic they create for their wedding–a short two weeks away!

Tiffany and Chance, the self-professed tree nerds, are getting married at Silver Falls State Park in June. Oregon has many beautiful places, but for waterfalls, forest and atmosphere, this park is easily one of my favorites. I’m so excited to be there for their wedding–these two are really special.

We had a superiorly wet day for this shoot (my camera was wrapped in my GoreTex jacket), but we still had a great time in the pouring rain. We walked around their wedding site, visited South Falls, and explored some of the pathways before we were too soaked to keep going. It’s truly a pleasure to take photos of other nature lovers who aren’t bothered too much by a bit of rain.

Congratulations, Tiffany and Chance! I can’t wait for June!

I first fell in love with Mike and Montana as they described their wedding, planned for a vintage Portland theater done 1920′s flapper-style. It’s a wedding I dreamed about shooting before they even told me they wanted me to do it.

A few rainy Portland weeks ago, we went around the Portland Arboretum. They showed up with stripes, leather, hats, umbrellas, boots… so much fun. Here they are, in all their fantastic style.
